Server Outage

Sorry about this, we lost the database on the server and I am busily reconstructing all the posts from the Google cache. – Very Tedious!

The tricky bit is faking the page links so all the “link love” won’t get lost!

Hope to have it fully restored by tomorrow night (10th GMT+9.30)

  • Update 10th:

OK; done that, but sadly ALL the Comments are still in ‘limbo’ someplace, and we lost all trace of ‘Recent Visitors’ too – Oh Well…………

Atleast you found the urls and could make them live linsk again. Since you had copy of posts that makes it alot easier instead of trying to write new ones.

Sometimes today, I get knocked off Yahoo because someone else signs in with my user id. I’m wondering if the server outage yesterday was caused by a security breach, and if so, what is being done by Yahoo to safeguard user accounts?

I have sometimes found that having a nearly identical sign-in name can cause the problem. Like My.Name@ and MyName@. The only real cure is to take a different name, or ask Yahoo do delete the other account if it is a newly opened one.
